An underwhelming wash day

You ever had a wash day that left you so blah that you couldn't wait for the next wash day??
I had one of those on Monday. The good thing is I was able to immediately identify who the culprit was.

While strolling the isles of Walmart my eyes caught a bottle of ORS Curls Unleashed
No Restrictions Moisture DC. It was only $3.50 down from &16.99. When I opened the
bottle to smell some got on my hand so I rubbed it into my new growth and it made it very soft.

• Pre-poo - ORS curls unleashed no restrictions DC mixed with my fav ayurvedic powders, castor oil and aloe Vera gel

• Rinsed after 45 mins. My hair was feeling soft and smooth and since I was running late for a doctors appointment I figured my hair got moisture from the pre-poo so I rinsed with ACV and aloe vera juice. Tshirt dried for the extent on my shower, added cantu shea butter leave in,
sealed with Coconut oil and let my hair finish the air drying process on the way to my appointment.

By the time I got there my hair was looking presentable. Fast forward to when I got home it was
Still looking ok but when I went to detangle it was very rough and drier than the Sahara and I
couldn't get the comb through.

Every product I used was a constant in my regimen except the ORS and the aloe Vera gel. So I checked the gel first. Even though it was marketed as 100%  pure gel the first two ingredients are water and ALCOHOL! Aloe gel was 8th on the list. This was the culprit that dried out my hair so badly.

This is supposed to be used for sunburn!! Who the heck would wanna put Alcohol on their sunburned skin. But like I said that was my fault for not checking. Am not sure how effective the ORS DC was so I will give it another shot but make sure I follow up with my moisturizing DC.

I drowned my hair in my coconut marshmallow leave in detangler and bunned my hair for the week.
Hope you had a much better was day experience than I did.

  1. Love how shiny your hair looks. I'm enjoying your blog. Do you mix apple cider vinegar and aloe vera juice together? Do you rinse it off or leave it in? Thanks!

  2. Hi P.M thank you for stopping by. I atribute the shine to coconut oil. Yes I mix the ACV+ aloe vera juice (in place of water) together as a final rinse then T-shirt dry. I never rinse it off.

  3. I'm sorry you didn't have a good wash day. My wash days have been a little underwhelming lately also. I think I'm finally bouncing back, which is good. Hopefully your next wash will knock your socks off. Your hair looks amazing though.

    1. I plan on cowashing with ORS soon so I'll see how that goes. It did soften my NG pretty good while in Walmart...lol but the true test will be how my hair feels after it's washed out and air dried

  8. Thanks for your response! Do you mind sharing the ratios for your AVJ/ACV mix? I'm afraid to make it too strong since I will be leaving it in.

  9. your bun is gorgeous! I hate it when products make claims to be one thing, but when you read the ingredients list they are something else. Hope your hair recovered, its beautiful.
